Simplicity

Well, Simplicity is finally making it out for a pre release. Its been a long stretch of development, but I have rewritten it almost from the ground up which should make maintenance and new features a bit easier to implement.

Simplicity also boasts two new features – well, I say new, but I have no idea whether other theme devs have implemented the same – first feature being video backdrops. Video backdrops work similar to Windows 7 Media Center, where if you have a video playing and you back into Media Browser your video will continue playing fullscreen behind the Media Browser UI. This allows you to browse around your media collection, possibly to quickly check that actors name, you know, the one that’s sitting on the tip of your tongue, without missing a frame of the movie.

Secondly, Simplicity has an all new shortcut handler. Need to switch to coverflow? Simply key in ‘#c’ and Simplicity will take you there. Pressing just the # key will display a keymap for all the configured shortcuts.

Finally, please keep in mind that this is a pre release of Simplicity. There is still tons of work to be done on it. Like adding in EHS icon support for those guys that spend hours perfecting their icons… you know who you are… :)

New Website

As most of you will see I’m also in the process of launching an all new website. I don’t have much time on my hands these days so the website is rather incomplete. But it will be updated as time goes by. Hope you like it more than the previous one, maybe a bit easier on the eyes?
